WITH Ilkeston RUFC’s first team getting a break from their promotion push, all eyes were on the Development side as they hosted Nottingham Medics at the Stute on Saturday.

The hosts went down 10-29 in the Pennant One clash and remain third in the league, with Medics clear at the top.

Elsewhere the thirds beat Ashfield 29-0 in Pennant Three and are currently fourth in the table, whilst won 43-14 at Ripley Rhinos in a friendly.

The first XV get back in action this Saturday with a home match against Paviors, kick-off 3pm;

They still sit in the crucial second position in the league but last weekend’s results saw Derby move level on points with the Elks. The two sides are due to meet at the Stute a week on Saturday (April 2)
