Sandiacre Town CC 1sts are sitting pretty in second place of the Derbyshire Premier League after their latest victory on Saturday.
They are now just eight points behind leaders Ockbrook and Borrowash following a five-wicket win against Alvaston and Boulton.
Alvaston and Boulton won the toss and decided to bat first.
All of their top six managed to get past 20 but none were able to go on to compile a major innings.
Rahib Ali was the top scorer with 36, skipper Stephen Stubbings made 25 and Atiq Bhatti 27.
Lower down the order, there was 26 from Colin Griggs in a final total of 213-9 from 50 overs.
For Sandiacre, Robert Cook took 3-55, while Daniel Wheeldon, Ryan McFadyean, John Jordison and John Trueman chipped in with one wicket apiece.
In reply, Mitch McCann was dismissed very early on the Sandiacre innings but fellow opener James Chapman made 53 to steady the ship.
Oliver Swann and Curtley Read also departed for relatively low scores and at one stage Sandiacre were 105-4.
But Andy Rhodes and John Trueman combined to excellent effect with a stand of 91 that took their side to the brink of victory.
Rhodes scores an attacking 67 off 54 balls, a knock that featured eight fours and three sixes.
Trueman was there at the end on 30 not out as his side reached the required runs for the loss of five wickets in 37.5 overs.
Sandiacre’s 2nds were in Division Two action at home to South Wingfield on Saturday and beat their visitors by 50 runs.
Sandiacre won the toss, batted first and eventually were dismissed for 207 in 44.5 overs.
Alistair Leek and Ben Ruhrmund got their side off to a good start, putting on 44 before Leek was out for 15.
Ruhrmund then teamed up withDavid Jordison to take the innings further forward.
Ruhrmund was dismissed for 41 and Jordison eventually proved to be the top scorer of the innings with 50.
Jack Anderson proved to be the other main contributor to the score, making 47, but Sandiacre suffered a rapid late-order collapse that saw them lose their last five wickets for just six runs, being bowled out for 207.
Andrew Lowe took 5-21 for South Wingfield.
The visitors’ batsmen then found the going tough in reply.
Although skipper Chris Dunn led from the front with 59 at the top of the order, the rest of the top six failed to get into double figures.
Number seven Andrew Lowe proved to be the second top scorer with 17.
Kevin Newbold led the way with the ball for Sandiacre with 4-26, ably backed up by David Jordison with figures of 3-22.
South Wingfield were eventually bowled out for 157 in 35.5 overs.
As for Sandiacre 3rds, they were in Division 5N action against Alfreton and lost the encounter by 77 runs.
Alfreton batted first after losing the toss and made 149-8 from 46 overs.
In reply, Sandiacre were bowled out for just 72 in 25.4 overs.
Richard Burne followed up last week’s 71 with a top score here of 34.
