Stainsby Hall CC will host a Derbyshire XI on Wednesday, May 22 for a 20-overs-a-side game being played as part of the Smalley-based club’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

The match starts at 6pm and admission is £2 for adults (free for children) and there will be a bar and barbecue.

Stainsby Hall’s David Brown said: “We hope that Derbyshire will send a strong side and it would be nice to see Chanderpaul v Chanderpaul as Shivnarine’s son Tagenarine is our overseas player this season.

“He’s only 16 but has played first class cricket for Guyana. He’s a lovely lad and has fitted in really well.

“We’d like to thank Derbyshire for agreeing to send a side along and helping support our anniversary year.”
