Nutbrook first XI bowler Kevin Flewitt sends down a delivery during his side's against Sandiacre Town second XI on Saturday.

Nutbrook CC travelled to Sandiacre looking to bounce back after the previous weekend’s defeat at Cutthorpe.

Sandiacre batted first, but good bowling from the Nutbrook attack restricted the scoring, skipper Michael Chambers (3-33) and Adam Hutchinson (2-43) picking up wickets as Sandiacre finished on 228-8.

Nutbrook began their reply and were rocked by the loss of two early wickets, but a fine 82-run partnership between opener Ben Eaton and Adam Lever steadied the ship, before Lever departed for 31.

Eaton then went on to make his half century before being out for 54, but knocks from Steven Sanderson (43) and Simon Taylor (31) helped see Nutbrook home to record a good victory.

Second XI

Nutbrook 2nd XI welcomed local rivals Stanton Elks.

Stanton, batting first, were restricted to 206-6, Dan Lever and Adam Brooks chipping in with a couple of wickets each.

Nutbrook, in their reply, had captain John Wilson (38) leading from the front, and contributions from Lever (31), Daniel Kerry (36) and Adam Brooks (40 not out) saw Nutbrook home to victory, despite Stanton’s Scott Law producing a five wicket haul.

Third XI

Nutbrook 3rd XI met leaders Calow CC.

Calow, batting first, posted 232 despite the efforts of Lewis Haywood with 4-63.

Nutbrook in their innings collapsed to 73 all out to go down to a heavy defeat.
