Visitors disappoint as Radcliffe take all three points
Radcliffe Olympic 2 Trowell U15s 0
Trowell travelled to Radcliffe and after a sluggish start got into gear and played some good football.
A terrific effort from Benji Hill was the highlight of the half as Radcliffe matched Trowell very well and showed lots of aggression.
Trowell began the second-half with a slope in their favour so with the pitch being quite heavy fancied their chances.
But Radcliffe piled on the pressure, and as the half progressed Trowell began to struggle and with a lack of effort from certain quarters were being pushed back even more.
It took a disputed goal from Radcliffe to break the deadlock after some 30 minutes of pla, goalkeeper Ben Flint making a great save from close in, the rebound falling straight to the striker who shot home.
Unusually Trowell didn't respond and towards the end of a lacklustre half for the visitors Radcliffe settled the game with an easy header a minute from time.
Man of the match went to Ben Flint for some good saves and some brave goalkeeping on a tricky surface.
