The Ilkeston Advertiser is this year running its very own Ilkeston FC Player of the Year competition and it’s now time to get voting.
It’s been a topsy-turvy season at the New Manor Ground with changes in coaching staff, several players signing for Football League clubs and a run of defeats that nearly saw the Robins dragged into a relegation battle.
But there have still been some outstanding displays throughout the campaign and it’s now time to cast your vote as to who the best player has been.
Your choice of player must still be at the club, and the presentation will be made ahead of the home game with Rushall Olympic on Saturday, April 16.
Several of Ilkeston’s young squad have impressed. Captain Matt Baker has led by example, midfielder Mike Williams has been a powerhouse in key games and defender Jordan Wheatley has attracted attention from several top clubs.
Perhaps young goalkeeper Jamie Hannis has impressed you enough since coming into the side for a vote alongside other stars of the FA Youth Cup run, or maybe the likes of Curtis Burrows get the nod.
The closing date for entries is Monday, April 11, so make sure you get your votes in quickly.
Simply send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject title Robins Player of the Year and your chosen player’s name in the body text.
