Check out Derbyshire's haunted village

Matlock Bath is one of the most haunted villages in Derbyshire and there have been ghostly apparitions sighted at the Grand Pavilion.

Paranormal investigations run by Haunted Company have found children running around the corridors, a malevolent presence residing under the stage area and the poltergeist spirits residing in the Dome at the top of the building of two workmen who were killed when the Pavilion was being built.

The company’s website states: “Lots of footsteps, breathing noises and unexplained sounds have also been reported and we and our guests have many images of mysterious shadows, mists and orbs from all areas of the building.”

Haunted Britain Investigations spent a night at the Grand Pavilion last month. Co-founder Lee Davies said: “The activity on a paranormal level was some of the most mind-blowing we have seen in any of our investigations over the years. I was witness to a partial apparition in the basement area. We are hoping that our equipment has picked up some of this.

“As a venue for serious teams like ourselves, it’s a dream location.”

On March 26, Haunted Company will run a fundraiser for The Grand Pavilion and Matlock Bath Pre-school which operates from inside the building. Events will include a family ghost walk around Matlock Bath and a paranormal investigation.

From 11am onwards, there will be children’s activities, including face-painting, a fancy dress competition and story-telling, stalls and activities, personal readings and mini ghost walks.
