Derby arts centre Quad will be screening a number of films over the next few weeks that have been nominated in this year’s Oscars.
Nominated for a total of 12 Oscars and directed by Steven Spielberg, Lincoln is set amidst the backdrop of the American Civil War, America’s president Abraham Lincoln (Daniel Day Lewis) struggles with the violence and bloodshed on the battlefield. Lincoln (12A) screens at QUAD until February 7.
Nominated for four Oscars, Django Unchained, the latest from director Quentin Tarantino, is a plantation slave film that harvests influences from spaghetti westerns and starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio. Django Unchained (18) screens from February 1-14.
Nominated for 11 Oscars, Life Of Pi is based on the worldwide bestsellingg novel and is adapted by director Ang Lee.
