With Peter Capaldi confirmed last week as the latest actor to take the lead in Doctor Who, the timing couldn’t be better for Quad to present the fifth annual convention for fans of the TV series.
Whooverville 5, this year celebrating 50 years of the TV series, takes place at the Derby-based arts centre and cinema on Saturday, August 31, from 10am-5pm.
Whooverville is the East Midlands’ biggest annual get-together to fans of the BBC TV series Doctor Who. Organised by Derby’s local Doctor Who group, the Whoovers, one of the most popular fan groups in the UK, Whooverville is a day of fun for all ages.
Whooverville is a chance to have your photo taken with the Tardis, catch up on gossip from the latest series, purchase merchandise, and meet some of those from in front of and behind the camera.
Special guests include actor Anneke Wills (2nd Doctor Companion Polly), actor Annette Badland (Margaret Blaine aka Blon...Slitheen, 9th Doctor); director Graeme Harper (The Caves Of Androzani and Journey’s End plus many more); and writer and script editor Andrew Cartmel.
Tickets are £40 (£25 concessions). Call the box office on 01332 290606.
