Walter Trout will be performing in the Darwin Suite at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Sunday, November 3, in a gig that also features special guests The Billy Walton Band.
Earth shattering blues rock music is Walter Trout’s stock in trade and he is renowned throughout Europe and the USA.
He was voted the sixth best guitarist ever in a BBC Radio listeners poll and gets rave reviews whenever playing live as well as on record. His live shows are mesmerising, his guitar technique dazzling and his rapport with fans both funny and intense.
A lesser artist might rest on such laurels. As Walter Trout powers into his 25th year as a solo star, there’s no whiff of the ennui or creative autopilot that hobbles the later output of some veterans.
Support on the night is The Billy Walton Band from New Jersey, USA.
The band offers up a combination of hard blues reminiscent of Hendrix, Clapton and Vaughan mixed with a healthy dose of Warren Hayes and Derrick Trucks.
Doors open at 7.30pm for the gig in the Darwin Suite and advance tickets are priced at £20.
They are available from the box office on 01332 255800.
