Music-lovers are in for a treat as award-winning women’s chorus DaleDiva prepares to stage its most ambitious show yet.
Tickets are now on sale for Believe, organised to celebrate four years of success for the Cromford-based four-part harmony group, which won Channel Five’s Don’t Stop Believing search for Britain’s best showchoir.
As well as performances by DaleDiva, the show will also feature Live and Unsigned finalists Xpose and female quartets Farenheit – who reached Britain’s Got Talent quarter finals last year – and Forté.
Two performances will be held at Derby Theatre on Sunday, November 13 – a matinee at 2.30pm and evening show at 7.30pm.
DaleDiva musical director Ally Law, 42, from Cromford, said: “Winning Don’t Stop Believing was such an amazing experience for us that we wanted to stay on that high and do a very special annual show this year.
“Believe is an ambitious production with something for all the family. We’ll do a selection of Don’t Stop Believing material as well as our a cappella arrangements and some new material and we’re really looking forward to sharing the stage with our special guests.
“It’s the perfect way to celebrate what we’ve achieved not only over the last year, but also how we’ve developed and grown since we started four years ago.”
DaleDiva was set up by barbershop coach, judge and award-winning singer Ally Law in November 2007. Since then, the chorus has achieved success at national and international competition, appeared as part of BBC TV’s Last Choir Standing and won TV talent show Don’t Stop Believing.
The chorus currently has 69 members aged 19 to 69 from across Derbyshire and beyond including Cromford, Matlock, Belper, Wirksworth, Derby and Sheffield.
Tickets for the matinee performance are £12.50 (£10 concessions) or £40 for a family ticket (two adults and two concessions). Seats for the evening performance are £15 (£12.50 concessions). Tickets are available from Derby Live on 01332 255800.
