The Slowdown Boys play a mixture of American Bluegrass, Old Time and early country music and will be performing at The Top Bar @ The Queen’s Head in Belper on Saturday, January 21.
The band shares a love of country and American folk music from old fiddle tunes and traditional Appalachian songs, through classics by all the greats of a bygone age right up to the most modern of sounds. Tight harmony singing, fiddle, mandolin and banjo, flat picked guitar and driving double bass bring these many sources together in a show that covers six decades of evolving country music.
The performers are all successful musicians with many years of gigging between them and have been the heart – and soul – of many local bands.
BelperMusicAndArts is pleased to bring this happy sound once more to the town. Doors open at 8.15pm for a 9pm start and it’s £6 on the door to get in.
