National Trust venues across Derbyshire are baking cakes, stringing up bunting and getting ready to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

From picnics to parties, beacons to tea dances, there will be something for everyone at their favourite National Trust place across the extended bank holiday weekend.

Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood, Kedleston Hall and Hardwick Hall are all hosting big picnic lunches on June 3, while Calke Abbey is staging a Jubilee Tea Dance on June 6. To find details of your nearest event visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/midlandsjubilee.

“What better place to come together and celebrate, than at a house, garden or open space that has been at the heart of its community and loved by residents here in Derbyshire for decades, sometimes centuries,” said Beccy Speight, regional director for the National Trust in the Midlands.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors and local communities to join us for this very special Diamond Jubilee.”
