The Long Eaton group Arcade Players will open their 76th seaaon with a production at the town’s Duchess Theatre later this month.
The well-known local drama group is now putting the final touches to the first of three productions for their season.
Volunteers will be performed at the Duchess Theatre, Long Eaton, on November 20-23, at 7.30pm.
Volunteers is set in a charity shop, and follows the amusing events and situations which occur mainly due to the well meaning but slightly dysfunctional volunteer staff.
Sight difficulties, easily getting befuddled, and general confusion do not help when dealing with the supposedly charitable public.
Nothing improves when Leanne, a ‘very difficult’ girl, arrives to help, just as management decide that a new image is required. Matters come to a head when an identity is revealed, and a man arrives who is determined to be seen in all the shops.
Mistaken identity, confusion and a good script ensures that you should be destined for good night’s entertainment by this drama group.
Tickets are priced at £6 (concessions for Wednesday and Thursday performances) and can be obtained by calling 07503 329277, by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Alternatively, they can bought from the theatre on Saturday mornings from 10am until noon. You can also see the website at www.arcadeplayers.co.uk
