Comedian Mike ‘Squeaky’ McClean will back at Derby’s Assembly Rooms this Christmas for his third consective panto there - by popular demand.

With the skill and timing to work an audience from the moment he steps on to the stage, the razor-sharp force of Mike “Squeaky” McClean returns to take on the role of Simple Simon, son of the deliciously dotty Dame Trott and brother to the giant slaying Jack in the production of Jack and the Beanstalk.

In his third consecutive Derby LIVE pantomime appearance, the diminutive Mancunian is charged with delivering giant-sized servings of silliness to the legion of fans and friends he’s made at the venue.

With critics calling him a ‘comic genius’ with his ‘in yer-face comedy bringing the house down’ audiences of all ages are guaranteed another crowd pleasing performance of comedy clowning.

Paul Holman, for pantomime producers Paul Holman Associates said: “I’m delighted Mike is returning.

“He’s established a very strong fan base which crosses the generations.

“He has the ability to induce laughter just from a look or a cheeky wink and when he takes to the stage, you know something funny and something special is about to happen.”

The Derby LIVE and Paul Holman Associates production of Jack and the Beanstalk opens on December 4 and runs until January 5.

Tickets are on sale at the Derby LIVE box office on 01332 255800 or online at www.derbylive.co.uk with discounts available for early bookers.

Music legend Billy Bragg is to appear in the Great Hall at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Tuesday, November 19, and tickets to see him are on sale now.

His new album Tooth & Nail was released last month.

Drawing on personal rather than political themes, Tooth & Nail was recorded over a whirlwind five-day session with Grammy Award winning producer Joe Henry.

Tickets to see him are priced at £21.25 and can be purchased on 01332 255800.
