Mercury prize winners M People will be embarking on a massive UK tour this October in celebration of the 20th anniversary since release of acclaimed seminal album Elegant Slumming and as a full live band.
M People will be joined by Lighthouse Family frontman Tunde Baiyewu as special guest for a gig at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on October 16.
As the voice of Lighthouse Family, Tunde has achieved in excess of 20 million global sales. With albums Ocean Drive, Postcards From Heaven and Whatever Gets You Through The Day, they also had numerous top ten singles including Lifted, Ocean Drive, High and Raincloud.
Tunde returned to the live circuit in 2011 with Lighthouse Family for a hugely successful tour. Earlier this year he released his second solo album, Diamond In A Rock, his first new material in over eight years.
This October will be M People’s first full tour in eight years following their Ultimate Collection arena dates in 2005 and sees Heather Small, Paul Heard and Shovell take on 14 dates across the country.
Heather Small said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back on the road with the guys again. It’s been eight years since we last toured together and we always have such fun!”
