Derby Gilbert & Sullivan Company, the six-time winners of the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival both here in Buxton and in the USA, are to perform The Mikado and Patience at The Duchess Theatre, Long Eaton, next week.
The company last performed The Mikado at Derby’s Assembly Rooms in 2011 with guest star Alistair McGowan playing the title role, to the delight of the packed Sunday night audience, and last year saw the company perform Patience in the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival at Buxton.
Company chairman Andy Loydall said: “This is a chance for those that missed these two shows to see them at a local theatre. We have decided to go for The Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton because it is a modern theatre with excellent facilities for both the company and patrons alike.”
Derby Gilbert & Sullivan Company are no strangers to touring their productions, having performed the famous operettas in Philadelphia, Seattle, Vancouver Island (twice), Gettysburg, Ireland and Lanzarote.
The Mikado can be seen on April 30 and May 1, while Patience is on May 3-4.
Tickets, priced at £12 (£10 concessions) are available from the company booking manager on 01332 735980 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
