auditions will be held for the Derby Live Youth Theatre on Sunday, September 18.
The youth theatre group aims are to provide the highest quality professional training in all aspects of theatrical performance and the auditions are open to all young people between the ages of 9-19 years (as of September 1)
The auditions will be held at 10am, 1pm and 4pm at The Club Rooms, Guildhall Theatre, Market Place, Derby.
You are only expected to attend one of the above sessions. There will be recalls on Sunday, September 25, and the successful auditionees will gain membership of Derby Live Youth Theatre for one year.
This is the fourth year of Derby Live’s Youth Theatre. The group is looking for 90 participants between 9-19.
The group will meet on a weekly basis in term time, with the possibility of some rehearsals during the autumn and spring half term holidays, are working on a specially commissioned adaptation by Peter Roberts of Euripides’s The Children of Hercules. The production week will be the week commencing April 1, 2012.
If you are interested in auditioning you are advised to wear comfortable clothing and bring a passport-size photograph with you.
Auditions will take the form of practical workshops. You do not need to prepare anything in advance. However, if you play an orchestral instrument at Grade Three or above, please bring it with you and be prepared to demonstrate your expertise during your chosen audition time slot.

There will be a charge, which is £40 per term, and an annual registration fee of £40, which equals £120 in total for the two terms, or £110 if the fees are paid in full at the beginning of the year.
If parents/carers are eligible for Income Support, then fees are waived.
