Ilkeston District Dog Training Club held another very successful Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme test night on Monday, June 22.

A total of 20 dogs received awards, nine bronze award, eight silver award and three gold awards.

The club meets at venues in West Hallam and Stanley Village, training the Good Citizen scheme, taking puppies through the Puppy Foundation level and the older dogs through the bronze, silver and gold levels.

The national scheme for all dogs (pedigree or crossbreed) and their owners is designed to train the dogs and their handlers how to become Good Citizens in everyday surroundings.

There is no age limit on either dog or owner and the scheme aims to make the owner fully aware of their dog-owning responsibilities and to make the dog socially acceptable.

Anyone wanting details of the classes should contact Hazel Reynolds on 0115 9324207.
