THIS photograph, showing children having fun in a former playground in Ilkeston, was submitted by the late Eddie King.
Eddie, who had a collection of old photographs of Ilkeston and the surrounding areas, said that the playground in the picture was found at the Drummond Road end of Victoria Park, where a car park now stands.
Some of the children are enjoying themselves on the play equipment, while others are posing for the camera.
Eddie thought the picture was taken in about 1920.
He said that he believed some of the houses in the background are still standing today.
Eddie had supplied the Advertiser with a number of his photographs before he died aged 66 in December.
His wife Sylvia asked us to feature his remaining picture on the Advertiser’s Memory Lane page.
