Barbara Downey will be prompt for this third production of Blithe Spirit, which the company first staged in 1974.

Noel Coward’s story focuses on a socialite and novelist who invites an eccentric medium to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his temperamental first wife who tries to disrupt his marriage to his second wife.

Blithe Spirit will be staged at Hasland Playhouse from March 18 to 26. Tickets £7.50, call 01246 272271 or visit www.haslandtheatrecompany.co.uk
