This photograph of young miners taken 100 years ago at Manners Colliery was given to Mapperley’s history society by Alan Sarson.
Alan’s father Bertie can be seen first left, back row. He was on his first shift at just 13 years old.
Elaine Sarson from the society said: “We would love to hear from anyone who thinks they may have a father or grandfather in this photo.
“Also, would anyone know how much these young men would have been paid in 1912 for all their very hard work underground?”
