AN ILKESTON pub is turning back the clock 20 years this week and offering punters pints at 1992 prices.

The Observatory in Market Place is putting on the ‘January sale’ to get drinkers through the door in the New Year.

From Tuesday until next Wednesday, a pint of Greene King Ruddles Best Bitter will cost just £1.29 and a Carlsberg will be £1.69.

Manager of the Wetherspoons pub Liam Chaudhry said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January and I believe that given the choice of a trip to a sale at the shops or a sale at The Observatory, most people would prefer a visit to the pub.”

He said staff will ‘serve customers responsibly’.
