Children at an Ilkeston school enjoyed a celebratory picnic to mark a ‘good’ rating following its latest Ofsted inspection.
Cotmanhay Infant and Nursery School had previously been rated as ‘requires improvement’ but has now been rated as ‘good’ in all areas.
Headteacher Katy Latchford said: “We are so proud of our children families and staff. Everyone has worked really hard to make the school as fantastic as it is. We strive as always to inspire our children to succeed.
“Following on from the success of our ‘good’ grading we will be opening up a brand new two year nursery based at Cotmanhay Children’s Centre in September. This is something that has been in great demand and we feel privileged to be giving our younger children this opportunity within the community.”
The Ofsted report praises the headteacher for improving the quality of teaching and learning. It also states: “Behaviour is good. Attendance has improved and pupils enjoy coming to school.”
