The owner of Alton Towers has indicated a guilty plea to a charge of breaching health and safety laws over the Smiler rollercoaster crash.
Merlin Attractions Operations Ltd appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme to face a charge under the Health and Safety at Work Act etc, 1974.
Five people were hurt in the crash on June 2, 2015 when two carriages collided on the rollercoaster. Vicky Balch and Leah Washington both lost a leg in the crash.
The company has been warned to expect a very large fine.
