Officers investigating a serious collision on Stanton Road in Ilkeston in the early hours of Saturday morning have arrested three people.
Two men aged 28 and 22, from Ilkeston, and a 17-year-old youth who lives in Nottinghamshire, were arrested yesterday. They were questioned and later released on police bail.
The 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.
The 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident and obstructing the police.
The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the police.
A burnt out car that was discovered in a field off Little Hallam Hill in Ilkeston at 7.15am yesterday morning is believed to be the car that was involved in the collision. It has been seized for forensic examination.
The 19-year-old man who was injured in the collision remains in a critical condition in hospital.
