Big thanks to everyone

I write to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped with the work on our house and for making my aunty, Bev Shaw’s, dying wish come true.

We have not quite finished our project yet, as every room in the house was affected in one way or another, but can definitely see light at the end of the tunnel.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped us in any way shape or form.

Paul Watkinson, my adopted big brother, was and still is, massively supportive and, with the help of Paul and Lindsey Rice, they arranged a fundraising night to help towards the costs of the work. I would like to thank everyone who attended the fundraising night or donated and helped with it in any way shape or form.

A lot of companies donated their time and or materials and others reduced their fees to enable us to complete the works necessary. The list is substantial and we are so grateful and overwhelmed by people’s generosity.

Jason Etienne of Silo Green Construction – prepared the plans free of charge, he was the first person to help us on our long journey. Silo Green Construction is his new business and so we are very grateful to him for his help as his is just starting out.

Danny Connelly and his team at CPM Construction – did a lot of work for free or reduced his fees substantially for other work. Danny was a massive help and without him we do not know what we would have done. He negotiated great reductions in materials with Travis Perkins at Ilkeston and other businesses, thank you.

Donaldson Timber Products of Hallam Fields – donated all the joists etc for the structural works that took place. A massive thank you goes to Laura Back and her boss.

F & R Timber Products – donated the flooring to get the loft usable.

Alex at Imperial Decorators donated the Velux window and flashing kit.

Adam Hodgkinson of Adam Hodgkinson Plastering – all work was completed free of charge with the help of Travis Perkins donating the materials. A massive thank you goes to Adam. Every room had to have fire boarding to the ceiling as well as the loft itself, this was a massive job.

Shaun Clarke at SDC Fencing and Building – has given his time freely or at reduced rates to help with several major alterations be it construction work or woodwork no job was too big or too small.

Gareth Hier of GSH Plumbing – managed to get everything at cost for us. Gareth has returned on numerous occasions during the project to assist in major and minor plumbing needs.

Stuart Pearson and his team – fitted fire doors and frames free of charge.

Ian Brown of IMB Electricals – again, cost price. Ian has also returned on numerous occasions during the project to assist in major and minor electrical needs and sourcing materials free of charge.

Tony – donated paint to enable us to decorate. As I mentioned earlier every room has been affected and so had to be re-decorated.

Ilkeston Swimming Club raised £250 during a sponsored swim again to help with the costs of materials etc.

We would also like to thank our family and friends for their support. Without it we do not know what we would have done.

Sorry if I have forgotten to mention anyone, the list is endless.

As I said earlier, we still have a way to go but light is definitely at the end of the tunnel.

Paula, Alex, Emily and

Jacob Middleton and Cody and Darcy Shaw.
