Brutal attack leaves man with fractured skull

A man has been left with horrific injuries, including a fractured skull, following a serious assault outside a pub.

The victim was threatened by a group of four men in Chalkies on High Street in Long Eaton but after a short walk out of the pub was attacked by an unseen person or group during the evening of Saturday, April 12.

He was taken home by taxi but later attended the Nottingham Queen’s Medical Centre where his injuries were diagnosed as a fractured skull, nose, cheekbone and eye socket.

He was discharged after an overnight stay.

Detectives have now launched an appeal for witnesses to the assault or anyone who saw the victim during the course of the evening.

Police also want to trace the taxi driver who took the victim from High Street in Long Eaton to his home in Carlton in Nottingham.
