A Developer is asking for more time to build ten houses after being granted planning permission three years ago by the council.
The new homes were given outline permission on the site of a former factory on Lower Stanton Road.
Erewash Borough Council officers have now recommended approval of for renewed permission depending on a commitment to improve the look of the local area and maintenance of landscaping.
Three householders on nearby Nursery Hollow have objected to the plans on the grounds that the access route through their ten-house cul-de-sac is too narrow.
They argue another ten houses will put too much strain on a road which is already too narrow for bin lorries.
Any development would also be subject to an agreement to provide almost £29,000 worth of improvements to local schools, highways and other communal facilities.
See next week’s Advertiser for a report on the council’s planning committee’s decision.
