Burglar confronted by homeowner steals car parked outside

A burglar who broke into a house in West Hallam stole a car that had been parked outside after he was confronted by the homeowner.

The car was later found abandoned.

The offender broke into a house on Bagot Street shortly before 10pm on October 21.

When he was discovered by a 26-year-old woman who lived there, he fled the property along with the keys to a red Hyundai that had been parked outside.

The burglar then made off in the car, which was later found abandoned on Sycamore Close, Mapperley.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the offence or anyone who saw the red Hyundai being dumped in Mapperley.
