A FAMILY has blasted the ‘scum’ that burgled their house at the weekend, stealing hundreds of pounds worth of Christmas presents and sentimental jewellery.
Police said burglars forced a rear window at the home between 8.45am and 3.50pm on Friday and took items including a Wii and games, their teenage daughter’s iPod and laptop, with her GCSE coursework on it, a netbook, an iPad and ‘every scrap of jewellery’, including a silver charm bracelet, a sovereign and a ring.
The victims, who do not want to be named, have written a letter to the Advertiser which can be read on page six.
They wrote: ‘Yes I suppose to you it looked like we had a lot. I’ll tell you why – it’s because we worked for it.’
