Asda is to take over a petrol station on Nottingham Road in Ilkeston.
The company confirmed it will takeover the Total station with a fully refurbished petrol forecourt and a small onsite shop. The petrol filling station is expected to open in June.
A spokesperson for Asda said: “Customers tell us that a convenient and great value shopping experience is important to them. Asda is known for its low fuel prices and has been a price leader across the board for 50 years, so we’re extremely excited to get open for business and start to benefit the local community.”
The company said that its standalone petrol site will bring Asda’s famous low fuel prices to Ilkeston with opening prices to be confirmed in the next few weeks.
The onsite shop will also stock a host of essentials from bread, milk, quick meal solutions and snacks. Drivers can also grab coffee on the go along with a range of hot Panini’s.
The spokesperson added: “Asda is the only retailer that has a national price cap on fuel at all current 245 filling stations, ensuring every single one of its customers knows the maximum price they will pay at the pump.”
