Care workers are ‘rising stars’

Two health care workers have been named ‘rising stars’ and given national awards.

Physiotherapist Ian English and occupational therapist Rebecca Spray, who work for the Erewash Integrated Community Therapy Team in Long Eaton, were among only 12 people in the country to win Advancing Healthcare Awards.

The awards recognise people who have done a great job in showing commitment to patients. The pair were nominated by their colleagues for the way they progressed from graduates to experienced therapists in a relative short space of time.

Team leader Sarah Spilsbury, from Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted that Rebecca and Ian’s work and dedication to helping patients has been recognised nationally.

“The energy, commitment and enthusiasm they have brought to their roles has been a big asset to the team.”
