West Hallam Parish Council has successfully gained a £10,000 Big Lottery windfall to provide new equipment at two of its play areas.
It has now ordered two trim trails, featuring several items of equipment such as monkey bars, stretch posts, clatter bridges and weave beams.
Members worked with West Hallam Community Centre Youth Club to find out which equipment they would like to see added to the popular High Lane East and High Lane Central play areas.
It is hoped that the trails will be installed within the next six weeks.
Clerk Susan Dunkley said: “The parish council is delighted to have been awarded this money by the Big Lottery in order to provide additional play equipment for the youngsters of the Parish.
“It has seen more children than ever using these two play areas so it is vital that facilities are provided for them to play in a safe environment.”
She said the equipment was low maintenance and hoped that it would last for many years to come.
