Concerned Smalley residents will be able to see plans for a proposed opencast mine at an exhibition this week.
Mining firm LEM Resources has asked permission to mine 400,000 tonnes of coal from the George Farm site in Denby over three years.
The plans would see an access road connect with the A608 road in Smalley, raising traffic concerns in the village.
The exhibition by planning agents Silkstone Environmental Solutions is to be held at the Denby Cricket Club, High Bank, Denby, on Wednesday from 4pm until 8pm. It is a walk-in session for people to view detailed plans.
Managing director Mark Barrett said: “It is important to remember this is not a meeting, it is an exhibition. People are more than welcome to view some of the plans of the George Farm mining application and hopefully my colleagues and I will be able to answer any questions.”
