AN ILKESTON man has launched a search for a sponsor to back his duathlon effort in April.
Phil Rushtin has signed up to participate in the Ashbourne Duathlon on Sunday April 22.
The tough course involves a 14km run around Carsington Water, followed by a 40km bike ride and finishing with another 4km run.
Phil will be raising money for Alzheimer’s charity.
He said: “I’m looking for a local business to pay £50 for my registration fee and a training vest.
“They can provide the training clothes if they wish or have their logo on.
“It would be a good chance for them and to get involved and support a worthwhile cause.
“I’ve started training now but will be stepping it up in the new year which will mean lots of bad weather running and cycling.”
Anyone who would like to sponsor Phil can call him on 07786 024061.
