THERE were so many festive fundraisers at Ilkeston Community Hospital’s annual Christmas bazaar this weekend that Santa ran out of toys!
Alongside Santa’s grotto, there were cake stalls, tombolas. bric-a-brac stalls and toys and books for sale at the event, organised by the League of Friends.
Group chairman Mike Perry said the total amount raised for the Heanor Road hospital stands at between £1,100 and £1,200 with more to come in.
The cash is set to be spent on two upcoming projects, for which details have not yet been released.
Mike said: “It went very well – so well in fact that Father Christmas ran out of toys.
“I don’t think that’s ever happened before.”
