STAPLEFORD Methodist Church has got talent – and that was very much in evidence at three performances of variety show Ticket To Ride, which raised £900.
Organist Graham Anderson in his role of show director pulled out all the stops and a cast of 30 performers did him proud serving up a feast of music making song and comedy on a packed programme.
The Girls’ and Boys’ Brigade band made a telling contribution with an impressive repertoire of tunes including Any Dream Will Do and Yellow Submarine.
Compered by church stewards Cliff Richmond and Gordon Poulson, whose ready wit and funny anecdotes enhanced the show, Ticket To Ride was notable for a rousing variation of songs sung by a 20-strong choir and soloists.
Money raised from the show will go to support the work of the Eatons Road church.
