As many readers are aware, Inspector Nick Daines has now moved from Ilkeston to the ‘bright lights’ of Derby city.

I am sure you all agree he has done a fantastic job over the last five years he has been the section inspector at Ilkeston.

He was passionate about improving the place that you live, work and socialise and took pride in working with the ‘Tiser, the community and our partners to realise this.

I am sure you will all wish him the best for his new role.

Now to introduce myself, my name is Katie Andrews. I have been an officer for Derbyshire police for over 19 years and spent the last two years as the section inspector at Long Eaton.

I have now been given the additional responsibility and exciting challenge to manage the Erewash policing section.

Due to the times we live in, there are bound to be some changes to policing but I can assure you that I am completely committed to ensuring that we provide an effective and positive safer neighbourhood team across the section.

We have some fantastic teams working in the community who hold regular police surgeries and panel meetings, where we ask for your feedback about policing in your area.

We would love to see you there so that you could meet and chat with your local safer neighbourhood officers and PCSOs.

Details of these events can be found on the Derbyshire police webpage.

I look forward to working with you and continuing the great work that has already been achieved and making the Erewash area an even better place to be.
