BOSSES of the Comet electrical superstore in Sandiacre have denied national media reports that is could be forced to close its doors after new figures revealed the state of the firm’s financial problems.
According to The Sun newspaper, Comet in Town Street is one of 22 stores nationwide allegedly being touted to potential buyers.
However its bosses said it was too early comment.
A spokesman said: “I can confirm that Comet does not have a large-scale store closure programme.”
The firm has plunged £9m into debt, according to figures released last week. It has 249 stores across the UK.
