proposals on changes to the constituency boundaries in the UK could see West Hallam moved from Mid Derbyshire back into the Erewash constituency.
The plans would also see Erewash area expand towards Derby and incorporate other surrounding areas including Borrowash.
In a report by The Boundary Commission for England, out this week, a recommendation is made that Derbyshire shifts around and has ten constituency areas rather than the current 11.
A 12-week public consultation period has now started to hear voters’ views.
A spokesman for the commission said: “We encourage everyone to use this opportunity to contribute to the design of the new constituencies – the more public views we hear, the more informed our decisions will be.”
