Police officers took turns in the stocks this weekend and received a soaking from Ilkeston residents.

Dozens of visitors flocked to the ‘Stute on Sunday to join in the fun which also involved a bouncy castle, barbecue, raffle and other fun and games.

The annual event was this year in aid of Cancer Research and the Air Ambulance but was also a chance for officers to meet Ilkeston folk.

PCSO Steve Bowlzer said: “This type of event provides a great opportunity for us to mix with the local residents, people can feel at ease talking to us about any issues or concerns they have.”
