Councillor wants feedback on leisure site

A COUNCILLOR is calling for feedback on proposals for a giant leisure village in Nuthall after concerned residents got in touch.

Cllr Richard Robinson – who is the borough’s portfolio holder for arts and leisure – wants to hear what people think about the plans for the 50 acre site before he puts his personal submission to Broxtowe Borough Council.

The councillor says he has had people ‘express concern’ about the ‘detrimental’ effects it could have on nearby town centres, leisure centres, and businesses, the amount of extra traffic generated from the site and building on greenbelt land.

Oxylane, the company responsible for the sports village, said the site would not threaten existing leisure facilities in the borough, but work alongside them.
