A creative six-year-old from Ilkeston has his eyes on the prize after winning a charity competition to design a pair of glasses. Troy Francis, who goes to Cotmanhay Infant School, clinched a prize in the competition organised by Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care. Corinne Meakin, branch manager at Scrivens on Bath Street, said: “Troy did a great job with his design and is a worthy winner.”
Troy was presented with the complete collection of Harry Potter books and a fun model of his design.
Mum, Sherrie Foulger said: “Troy was absolutely made up when he heard he had won because he loves colouring and crafts and is always making things. He is a Harry Potter fan too so I can read the books to him until he is old enough to read them for himself.”
Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care is a family run business which was established in 1938. It has 177 stores in England and Wales, with 1,000 employees.
