A SMOKER has been ordered to pay £215 after dropping a cigarette end in Long Eaton.
Shamsher Sahota, of Chesterfield Avenue, denied the offence but was convicted at Derby Magistrates’ Court on July 14.
The court was told that an Erewash Borough Council neighbourhood warden had issued a fixed penalty notice to Mr Sahota for dropping the cigarette end. He denied the offence and chose to have his case heard in court rather than pay the £75 on-the-spot fine.
