Appeal after ‘assault’ in Ilkeston

A 30-year-old man suffered cuts to his face after allegedly being punched in the face in South Street at the weekend.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Ilkeston and later released him on bail.

The victim, from Long Eaton, told police a black car pulled up outside Manor Fish Bar at about 2.25am on Sunday.

A man ‘of very large build’, about 6ft 6ins and with a bald head then got out and assaulted him before fleeing in the car.

Police say there were two or three other people in the fish bar at the time, who may have witnessed the alleged attack and who should call them on 101.
