POLICE are launching a campaign to tackle cross-border crime between Ilkeston, Long Eaton and neighbouring Nottinghamshire.

Operation Queensbury is to run through February and March and will see Derbyshire police attempt to disrupt criminal activity in the area.

Planned activities will be carried out in Ilkeston and Long Eaton throughout the month, including search warrants and visits to second-hand shops and scrap metal dealers to gather information.

Officers from Ilkeston will be carrying out a ‘ward walk’ to deliver information about the operation and offer reassurance to residents.

Long Eaton police will be keeping an eye on border roads in a bid to disrupt travelling criminals.
