Commemorative coins have been stolen from a house in Long Eaton.

Sometime between 5.30pm on Friday, June 5 and 11am on Sunday, June 7, a burglar forced open the back door of the property in Hathersage Avenue.

A large number of coins were taken, including a commemorative £1 from 1983, a silver crown from 1951 depicting King George VI and a coin dated 1969 showing the Prince of Wales.

A medal from 1929 inscribed Our Empire Prince for God, King and Empire was also stolen along with jewellery and a white gold man’s Philip Persio watch.
