A HOODED would-be robber demanded cash from takeaway workers in Ilkeston but fled empty-handed, police have said.

The man, who may have been armed, walked in to Pizza Amico in Bath Street last Monday at 11.35pm and asked for money from the till.

Within seconds he turned and ran off along Bath Street and into Stamford Street.

As he fled, staff noticed he had an item concealed beneath his hoodie, which they thought could have been a weapon. No-one was hurt and nothing was stolen.

Witnesses described the man as in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up.

Anyone with any information about the crime should call Derbyshire police on 0345 123 33 33 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
