A man has been arrested after a high-speed police chase.
A patrol car spotted a BMW allegedly driving at speed through Heanor town centre at 5.20am this morning.
Police went after the vehicle and the force’s helicopter was scrambled to help locate the car.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: “The car was located in Marsh Avenue in Cotmanhay and a 31-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of dangerous driving, drink-driving and drug-driving.”
The man was released on bail after being questioned by police.
